Rules

We ask all to be candid but respectful in communication.

Do not respond offensively. Disagreement is OK, offensiveness is not. Offensive responders will be barred from participation.

Do not bring up conspiracy theories. We have no time for them.

Do not advocate the breaking of the Commandments.

Divine Names:

Please do not use the Divine personal name, the Tetragrammaton, in Hebrew fonts or the Name transliterated into English in your comments at any time. Please do not import passages from the Tanach / Hebrew Scriptures containing the Divine Name at any time.

.

While that may be OK in our cyber world, it can cause desecrations and other problems when printed. We strongly recommend the use of generally accepted substitutions for the Divine Name, e. g. H, HaShem, LORD in all caps, or English translations of descriptive names, e.g. Creator, All-Mighty, The Sovereign, King, etc. Generally the usage of the term God is OK, for it is not sacred as the Hebrew Tetragrammaton is. However, we recommend using the form G-d to indicate that we are referring to the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, and not a triune or other non-Hebrew understanding of God.
